SHALL BE IT

Solo exhibition loosely inspired on texts from Apocalypse. Luis Miro Quesada Garland Gallery.
Lima, October, 2012.

These exhibition was described by the sociologist Gonzalo Portocarrero, as the artist's personal prayer, ‟an attempt to face an overwhelming feeling of death with the urgent need of hope”. In one the Works, titled Mass Grave, a self-portrait of the artist appears descending into a mass grave of bodies of Catholic saints. The work explores the boundaries between religiosity and violence and honours the victims of Peru's bloodshed during Shining Path's attempt to seize power. Many mass graves where discovered during the hearings of Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
